Photography
has been Sharon's creative and social outlet since childhood days
in North Carolina. In 1996, she survived an auto accident that forever
altered her vision of the world and the direction of her photography.
In the early stages of her rehab, limited physical abilities required
her to find subjects that could be photographed with ease...flowers,
shells, foliage...with a focus on producing larger than life macro
prints. This new focus eventually led her to become a photographer
for the Denver Botanic Gardens for over 4 years. The images produced
during that time received much attention and opened the doors for
exhibits in many fine art galleries around the United States. Truly,
out of an unexpected tragedy, creativity bloomed.
Recently, she
has been working in a style she describes as "altered capture",
creating more abstract images. Sharon also works with other artists,
promoting their work. Currently she curates shows for Tenn Street
Coffee & Books located in Denver, CO.
Sharon's work
is being shown at Alchemical Eye Studio, a collaborative printmaking
studio where much of her recent work has been produced.
