I am trying to break down the image I am seeing into its most simple form and to let the viewer fill in the details. Painting this way, you are able to see my art in your own way and to interpret it in a way that is most interesting to you. This approach is immediately appealing and uncomplicated. Rather than a particular subject, strong lines, and value contrasts make the most interesting subjects for me.

I began painting as a result of purchasing art for my interior design clients and trying to accomplish a better understanding of the abstract work that I was using.

As an Interior Design graduate in 1982 from the Art Institute of Colorado, I have continued my education with classes at Foothills Art Center in Golden, The Arvada Center, Boulder Lifelong Learning, Park Hill Arts Club and Art Students League of Denver. My art work has been shown and sold at the Foothills Art Center gallery and the Summer Art Market event held in Denver every June.

Using three mediums, oil and acrylic paint, and most currently pastels, my subjects vary widely but mainly I enjoy landscapes and architecture and work more toward the abstraction of these subjects. My love of color, composition and the play of light and shadow all come together as I work toward creating art that I hope you never tire of viewing.
